Biosperse XD3899 microbiocide is a unique, oxidizing biocide that effectively controls biofilm formation in recirculating cooling water systems. The patented product, which can be described as a mild oxidizer, reduces microbiological activity by up to 99.9 percent, providing a truly clean system. By virtually eliminating microbiological activity, the microbiocide stops biofilm from forming and thus adversely impacting system performance.
Biosperse XD3899 microbiocide offers many benefits:
Biosperse XD3899 microbiocide reacts with reductive compounds within microorganisms, preventing the microbes from producing energy. Without energy, they die before they can attach to surfaces and form biofilm. The microbiocide also penetrates and removes existing biofilm and algal deposits, eliminating the need for system shutdowns for cleaning.
The solution is produced on-site using automated dosing equipment and a proprietary monitoring and control system. The dosing equipment blends an ammonium bromide solution with sodium hypochlorite and fresh water under required reaction conditions. This ensures 100 percent conversion of the microbiocide components. The dosing equipment automatically adjusts microbiocide production to correct for any variances in product quality.
Solenis customers who use Biosperse XD3899 microbiocide report a number of improvements. In one case study, a chemical processing customer implemented the microbiocide in its cooling system with great success. Benefits recorded by this customer include:
