We offer a vast portfolio of cleaning-in-place chemicals, including alkalis, acids, chelating/sequestering agents, disinfectants/sanitizers, enzymes, oxidizing agents, solvents and surfactants to suit producers of all sizes across all sectors.

Our CIP products have developed with the industry to meet the needs of our customers and include:
  • Phosphorus-free and nitrate-free solutions
  • Sodium hypochlorite-free disinfectants
  • Alternatives that achieve the same level of efficacy at lower temperature cycles
  • Advanced enzyme technology
  • A range of disinfectants that will be EU-BPR supported
  • On-site disinfectant generators for chlorine dioxide and performic acid
When determining effective CIP cleaning recipes, it is necessary to consider the:
  • Level and type of soil being targeted for removal
  • Products being produced
  • Validated cleaning procedures
  • Time available for cleaning
  • Materials of the equipment to be cleaned
  • Recommendations from the equipment manufacturer
  • Environmental impact
  • Chemical residues [link to blog]
  • Local environmental regulations
  • Water quality
  • Operator safety

Our specialists work with you to define the optimal cleaning recipes for your specific requirements. They will provide recommendations based on their knowledge and experience working with various CIP installations worldwide.

CIP Chemical Compounds and Formulations and Their Function
  • Acids: Dissolve in-organic soils like mineral deposits.
  • Alkalies and Caustics: Dissolve organic matter.
  • Chlorine: Removes soils containing protein.
  • Disinfectants/Sanitizers: Reduce the level of vegetative micro-organisms to a “safe level”. Only effective when being applied to a clean surface.
  • Sequestrants: Added to bind water hardness in water that can interfere with achieving a good clean.
  • Surfactants: Help to penetrate soils.
  • Water conditioners: Added to control impurities in water that can interfere with achieving a good clean.

When tackling regular organic soil, it is typical to use alkaline detergents; while for inorganic soil like beer stone, milk stone or scaling, it is more likely that acid detergents will be used. However, some alkaline-based formulations can attack both organic and inorganic soils and cope with scaling and acid products that can achieve a good cleaning result on organic soiling. Liaising with a trusted chemical supplier ensures that you have access to the best solutions that will help you meet your quality, operational and sustainability objectives.

*Always use the correct product for its intended application. Usage information can be found on safety data sheets, product information sheets and the product label. Using a product in a way that it was not intended to be used might reduce efficacy which risks leaving microbes on the surface, potential damage to the surface if it is not compatible, or even fatal consequences. This material is provided for general information purposes only and does not replace each user’s responsibility to assess the operational, legal and other requirements applicable to each facility.
