A growing population and a scarcity of water in some regions of the world have made it necessary for municipalities to look for more ways to economically produce high-quality drinking water and treat wastewater to ensure that the environment is not harmed.
Solenis has a long history in solid/liquid separation with an established range of flocculants under the Praestol™ and Zetag™ trade names. We are a worldwide leader in flocculant manufacturing and deliver high-quality products to municipal customers looking to solve their biggest challenges. Our products are proven in all water and wastewater applications, including sludge dewatering, sludge thickening and clarification.
Our range of flocculants performs very well in a variety of solid/liquid separation technologies, resulting in optimized dewatering and higher cake solids. They are ideal for sludge thickening and dewatering with centrifuges, chamber filters, membrane filters, belt filters, disk thickeners and static thickening and help municipalities produce high-quality drinking water and ensure that wastewater is environmentally safe.
Praestol™ and Zetag™ flocculants are water-soluble polyelectrolytes. The flocculants are electrically charged to bond with solid particles in aqueous suspensions or slurries. The particles then flocculate to form macroflocs, which easily separate from the suspension.
Solenis flocculants can be used wherever effective solid/liquid separation is desired to accelerate the sedimentation, dewatering or flotation of suspended solid particles.
Praestol™ and Zetag™ flocculants can be used for a variety of applications, such as:
Praestol™ and Zetag™ flocculants are available in a variety of molecular weights and forms. Our manufacturing process leverages microorganisms to produce the desired end products, allowing for precise adjustment of the molecular weight and charge distribution together with an optimized molecular structure.
