Improving sustainability is the central theme for Diversey at the Cleaning Show 2023.

Improving sustainability is the central theme for Diversey at the Cleaning Show 2023. The company is featuring key products, equipment, and services that enable cleaning teams to reduce consumption of energy, water, chemicals, and packaging while improving performance and cutting costs.

The company, which marks its centenary this year, is the UK and Ireland's largest integrated manufacturer and supplier of cleaning and hygiene solutions.
For cleaning products, sustainability is reinforced with Diversey's ?Green, Greener, Greenest? programme. This helps organisations progressively improve the sustainability of their cleaning operations. First, they adopt ?Green? ultra-concentrated products using system platforms with benefits such as reduced waste and packaging. Then they move to ?Greener? formulations with recognised environmental and eco accreditations. Finally, they embrace the full range of sustainability benefits offered by the ?Greenest? products. In this sequence, the Diversey range which supports and enables the ?Greenest? cleaning operations is SURE. This is a plant based and 100 per cent biodegradable set of products for daily building and kitchen care which offers superior professional results while maximising safety and gentleness for people and the environment.

The range is Cradle to Cradle ?Gold? and EU Ecolabel certified and widely used by cleaning teams who want to introduce the highest levels of sustainability into their operations. The entire range is manufactured from environmentally responsible plant-based ingredients from renewable resources. They contain
no artificial dyes, perfumes, quats, chlorine, phosphates, or oxide compounds and generally have lower safety classifications than conventional alternatives. Products are supplied in PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastics packaging. Sustainability is further enhanced when SURE products are used with Diversey's ultra-concentrate platforms such as SmartDose and QuattroSelect that reduce plastics consumption by up to 98.5 per cent compared with traditional ready to use products.

Another innovation which supports ?Green, Greener, Greenest? is the redesigned SafePack pouches for use with ultra-concentrated kitchen, warewashing, and laundry products. They are fully recyclable and the first of their kind that are also UN-approved for classified liquids. Like all Diversey's system platforms, SafePack allows users to refill reusable spray bottles over and over again, thus improving plastic reuse and minimizing waste. This helps users to
lower carbon emissions, reduce plastics waste, and meet the highest standards for recyclability and safety. The pouches have been completely redesigned to be fully recyclable, enabling users to support the sustainable circular economy. The latest production methods ensure there is no waste of materials that are also more environmentally friendly than those used in the old system. All components are also easier to separate, sort and recycle. These changes mean that SafePack pouches are the first to be United Nation-approved for ADR (classified) liquids. The SafePack D (Divermite) kitchen cleaning pack size has been increased from 1.5 to 2.0 litres which results in less waste. Just one pouch holds enough concentrated cleaning solution to fill many spray bottles, once diluted, over and over again. For example, one six-litre case of concentrated Suma Bac D10 kitchen cleaner disinfectant contains as much product as 400 ready-to-use bottles. This reduces the carbon footprint from 24.7 CO2 eq. to 0.11.

Diversey is also highlighting other highly sustainable cleaning products, equipment, and solutions from across its extensive range at The Cleaning Show.
TASKI ULTIMAXX scrubber driers: this new range offers 40 per cent more running time between recharges, 40 per cent more floor cleaning between water refills, and reduce water and chemical consumption by up to 76 per cent compared to previous models to promote enhanced performance, productivity, and sustainability. With a host of smart technologies, a modular design, and a wide choice of options they offer operators complete flexibility to specify and configure a machine to their own unique operating and business requirements. TASKI swingo 250?icro scrubber drier: this lightweight and mobile micro scrubber drier for
facilities of any size combines floor scrubbing, mopping, and drying in a single design. Using a scrubber drier takes less time, increases efficiency, and reduces risk for facility users compared with traditional floorcare processes. Consumption of water and chemical solution is reduced by up to 6500 litres a year for an average application compared to conventional mopping. With labour representing around 80 per cent of cleaning costs, this machine can
reduce total cleaning costs by up to 70 per cent.

Through a combination of reliable and energy conscious machines, detergents and knowledge base Diversey has solutions for the smallest machines to the largest scale installations. It offers support with solutions that improve and control processes while combining the best wash quality with saving water, energy, labour and product consumption. These solutions are tailor made to meet each operator's warewashing and fabric care operations and needs. experienced service agents with a comprehensive range of products and equipment. Throughout its one-hundred-year history, Diversey has been at the forefront of sustainability in the cleaning industry. Hundreds of the company's products are certified to one or more internationally-recognised environmental or sustainability standard. But its approach goes further than product development: it is a founding partner of global initiatives with the WWF including the Marine Stewardship Council and the Global Water Roundtable. The company holds the Ecovadis Silver Medal in recognition of its sustainability and CSR performance. Diversey has also established a number of programmes to help local communities. Soap for Hope, for example, is collaboration between Diversey and several international hotel groups. Soap collected from the hotels is recycled into fresh bars and distributed to nearby underprivileged communities. These can then generate income and have access to free soap, which is crucial in preventing life-threatening illnesses through proper hand washing. Since its launch in 2013, Soap for Hope has been joined by more than 1000 participating
hotels in in 188 cities across 45 countries. This has diverted 5900 tons of solid soap waste rom landfills, leading to over 49 million bars of soap produced and distributed to over a million people annually.
