Dr. Daniel Grell joined Solenis in 2015 as vice president, Environmental, Health, Safety and Product Regulatory (EHS&PR), where he is responsible for product safety and compliance, as well as employee safety.
Prior to Solenis, Grell was vice president of corporate Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) at Firmenich SA in Geneva, Switzerland, where he defined corporate policy and strategy and led compliance for all Firmenich products globally in Asia Pacific, Europe, North America and Latin America. As a member of the Corporate Compliance Division executive team, he collaborated globally to link together the areas of Environmental, Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, Risk Assessment, Audit, Sustainability and Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs.
Grell began his career at Firmenich in 2001 as an application development manager responsible for the complete IT system infrastructure for PSRA. He later took over as PSRA manager for Firmenich UK Ltd. in London, where he was also responsible for SAP implementation of PSRA functionality worldwide. Throughout his tenure at Firmenich he’s held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility within the PRSA discipline.
Grell has served on a variety of boards and associations, including the International Fragrance Association, scienceindustries in Switzerland, and the European Federation of Essential Oils.
Grell earned a masters in chemistry from Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main in Germany, and a Ph.D. from the Institute of Organic Chemistry at the Université de Lausanne in Switzerland.
