Nandu Dhekne joined Solenis in 2014 as vice president, Asia Pacific.
Prior to Solenis, Dhekne was vice president, Asia Pacific for Ashland Water Technologies. In addition, he served as vice president of Ashland Specialty Ingredients, Asia Pacific between 2011 and 2014.
Dhekne has significant leadership experience in the water treatment industry. He spent over 20 years with Hercules Incorporated, General Electric and BetzDearborn, where he served in numerous management positions, including operations start-up manager, managing director, regional executive and president. During these roles Dhekne has lived and worked in Singapore, India and China.
He joined Ashland in 2008 as a director of Ashland Aqualon Functional Ingredients, Asia Pacific following Ashland’s acquisition of Hercules, where he held a similar position. In 2009, Dhekne was appointed vice president, Ashland Aqualon Functional Ingredients, Asia Pacific and was responsible for the overall business operations in the region.
Dhekne is an active member of various business organizations. He was chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in India, a board member of Association of International Chemical Manufacturers (AICM), and a national advisory board member of ENACTUS in China. He is an honorary fellow of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, and has been a member of the Young Presidents Organization (WPO).
Dhekne received a bachelor of chemical engineering from Institute of Chemical Technology Mumbai. He has also completed senior Executive Business Management Program at GE Crotonville and the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
