Diversey, a Solenis Company, and Corsair Group International sign MOU to Advance Circular Economy and CSR Plastic Credits in Thailand

This initiative highlights Diversey’s dedication to promoting sustainability through innovative waste management and Corporate Social Responsibility practices

December 9, 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wilmington, Del. (USA) – Diversey, a Solenis company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Corsair Group International focusing on upcycling Diversey’s empty chemical containers and implementing CSR Plastic Credits to offset the company’s plastic waste footprint in Thailand.

Corsair Group International develops viable business solutions for global environmental issues such as plastic waste, air pollution, water pollution and climate change. CSR Plastic Credits is a digital, ERC-20 receipt that proves that plastic waste has been removed from the environment, allowing both companies and private individuals to offset any amount of plastic waste they generate monthly, simply by acquiring and retiring the equivalent amount of CSR Plastic Credits.

As global concerns around plastic waste management intensify, this collaboration aims to transform used and empty plastic containers into new, sustainable products and establish a system for retiring CSR Plastic Credits. The first phase of this CSR Plastic Credits collaboration will launch in Thailand with Diversey’s Suma Star D1™ hand dishwashing detergent, featuring packaging labeled as plastic neutral.

The MOU was signed by Vikas Mittal, managing director for Thailand, Vietnam and Indochina at Diversey Hygiene (Thailand) Co., Ltd and Jussi Veikko Saloranta, chairman of the board and partner at Corsair Group International.

“Diversey is dedicated to reducing plastic waste and driving sustainability,” said Mittal. “This partnership with Corsair Group International allows us to deliver greater value to our customers while creating a lasting environmental impact.”

Saloranta added, “The upcycling of plastic waste and introduction of CSR Plastic Credits represent a critical step toward advancing a circular economy in Thailand. Together, we aim to drive innovation and sustainable practices in the region.”

The exclusive partnership will operate in designated regions of Thailand where Corsair has the capacity to provide services, with plans to expand across the region.
