Grand Hyatt Dubai Recognized with 2024 Solenis Sustainability Award for Multifaceted Approach to Advancing Environmental Stewardship

WILMINGTON, Del. (USA) — Solenis LLC, a leading global producer of specialty chemicals, is proud to honor Grand Hyatt Dubai with the 2024 Solenis Sustainability Award. This recognition highlights the hotel’s commitment to sustainability through the implementation of innovative solutions that reduce energy and water consumption, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce costs.

Operating a luxury hotel requires balancing guest comfort with environmental responsibility. Grand Hyatt Dubai has achieved this by implementing Clax Advanced low-temperature laundry solutions, Twister Pads for chemical-free floor cleaning, and TASKI Aero 15 energy-saving vacuum cleaners. These initiatives have significantly reduced resource consumption and operational costs while maintaining high hygiene standards.

Sustainability achievements were achieved by implementing the following in the last five years:

  • Clax Advanced Low-Temperature Laundry Solutions:
    • Saved 850 MWh of energy
    • Reduced water usage by 6,979 cubic meters
    • Cut CO₂ emissions by 386 tons
    • Achieved an 83% plastic reduction by transitioning to larger 200kg product containers 
    • Total operational cost savings of $83,200 annually
  • TASKI Aero 15 Energy-Saving Vacuum Cleaners:
    • Improved operational efficiency by saving 5,749 kWh of electricity per year
    • Cost reductions through energy savings equivalent to the cost of one new vacuum unit per year
  • Twister Pads for Chemical-Free Cleaning:
    • Enhanced hygiene standards through revolutionary floor care solution with 100% chemical savings
  • Employee Safety & Training Programs:Conducted ATP Swab testing and refresher training for housekeeping staff, as well as detailed chemical safety training for chefs, Food & Beverage staff, and stewarding teams.
