FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WILMINGTON, Del. (USA) — Solenis LLC, a leading global provider of water and hygiene solutions, is proud to honor Reynolds Consumer Products (RCP) with a 2024 Solenis Sustainability Award. This recognition highlights RCP’s commitment to environmental responsibility through the elimination of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in paper plate production and the optimization of production processes at their Red Bluff, California, facility.
Reynolds faced the challenge of eliminating PFAS from their production process while maintaining product performance. In partnership with Solenis, they successfully replaced PFAS with a Solenis-provided barrier additive that provides exceptional oil and grease resistance, which allows RCP to maintain top product quality while reducing their environmental impact. RCP was able to work with Solenis to accomplish this ahead of new regulations requiring the elimination of PFAS from consumer goods.
“Reynolds Consumer Products has set a new standard in sustainable manufacturing by prioritizing environmental safety without compromising product performance,” said Wanderley Flosi Filho, Vice President and General Manager of Solenis’ Consumer Solutions business in North America. “Their dedication to product quality and optimizing processes underscores the impact of innovation in driving meaningful sustainability outcomes. We are proud to recognize their achievements.”
“Product quality, safety, and performance are extremely important to us. I want to recognize our team at Red Bluff for their work in updating our processes to meet the top standard for both performance and sustainability. Solenis has been an outstanding partner to help us accomplish our goals,” said Rachel Bishop, President, Hefty Tableware Business Unit.
RCP remains committed to advancing sustainability through ongoing process improvements and innovative solutions that minimize environmental impact while supporting operational excellence.
Established in 2020, the Solenis Sustainability Awards recognize projects that excel in reducing water use, energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste as well as optimizing raw material utilization.
